The Oklahoma Sooners have a pair of commitments in the 2028 recruiting cycle after earning a pledge from in-state tight end Connor Arant. The Sooners have made positive headway in their pursuit of several blue-chip prospects in the cycle.

On Thursday afternoon, Sam Spiegelman of Rivals and On3 issued predictions favoring the Oklahoma Sooners for four-star wide receiver Dedrick Kimbrough and four-star linebacker Jay Schell.

Out of Alabaster, Alabama, Kimbrough is considered a four-star prospect by both Rivals and 247Sports. Rivals ranks him the No. 21 wide receiver and No. 152 player in the country. Kimbrough has 23 Power Four offers.

He's a smooth playmaker with the ability to separate from the defense and create big plays. Kimbrough displays strong route running and possesses good hands. At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, he has the frame to be a difference maker on the outside against SEC defenses down the road.

ESPN considers Schell the No. 1 linebacker in the country, and Rivals has him at No. 9 at his position and No. 135 in the nation. Out of Rabun Gap, Georgia, Schell has 38 Power Four offers. In 2025, he accounted for 77 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and three sacks.

Kimbrough and Schell have bright futures, and the Sooners are in a good spot to land the talented blue-chip prospects.
