Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen was in the headlines recently after a run-in with the law. Allen was arrested for drunk driving after failing a sobriety test in the city. Now, the veteran wide receiver has been formally charged with two misdemeanor counts, per Fox59.
“Court records show Allen is formally charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration of equivalent to .15 or more,” the report said.
The report laid out more details surrounding the arrest of the Colts wide receiver. Allen reportedly caught the attention of policemen after they noticed his car parked in a no-parking zone. However, the policemen responding noted that Allen’s speech was heavily slurred, and he smelled heavily of alcohol.

Allen reportedly failed multiple sobriety tests such as a breathalyzer test (he tested at a .224 BAC, three times the legal limit in Indianapolis). Officers also noted that the Colts wide receiver had an unsteady gait, bloodshot and watery eyes during the arrest,.
GM Chris Ballard had this to say about Allen’s arrest.
“I’m not going to comment on what happened, but what I’m going to tell you is good people make mistakes,” he said. “He’s a tremendous human being. Give him some grace, and he’ll work through the process of the legal system.”
Allen signed with the Colts in August. He played last season for the Los Angeles Chargers, recording 81 catches for 777 yards and four touchdowns. He suited up for Indianapolis in Week 1, recording six catches for 32 yards.
