‘I Am Disgusted’ — Ex-NFL LB Gets Brutally Honest About Deshaun Watson, Claims It’s ‘Not Even Fair’ for Browns Fans To Watch $230M QB
· Yahoo Sports
Deshaun Watson waited nearly two years to make another NFL regular-season start after winning the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback job over Shedeur Sanders. But his Week 1 performance drew sharp criticism from former player-turned NFL analyst Emmanuel Acho.
Watson’s return ended in a 34-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, with Cleveland falling behind 31-0 before finally reaching the end zone late in the fourth quarter.

Emmanuel Acho Rips Deshaun Watson After Browns’ Week 1 Loss
Acho did not soften his assessment of the $230 million quarterback’s performance or what Browns fans had been forced to watch.
“I’m not just surprised. I am disgusted with how bad Deshaun played today,” Acho said during aSpeakeasy segment. “That was an aberration to the game of football.”
Acho’s frustration centered on basic quarterback play. He questioned why Watson was taking deep drops from shotgun, pointed to the interception on Cleveland’s opening possession, and noted that the Browns nearly gave the ball away again on the next series.
“Deshaun, did y’all not practice together?” Acho asked. “Cleveland offense, did y’all not have any training camp? What the hell did we watch?”
The former NFL linebacker shifted his criticism toward what Cleveland’s fan base has endured.
“You can’t put Browns fans through that,” Acho said, and added that rookie quarterbacks making their first career starts can look “more composed” than Watson did Sunday.

Shedeur Sanders Debate Is Already Back in Cleveland
Watson finished 16 of 22 for 205 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while taking five sacks. Forty-six of those passing yards came on a touchdown to Denzel Boston with 1:52 remaining after Jacksonville had already decided the game.
His current 64.5 grade in PFN’s QB Impact Rating ranks him No. 27 among qualifying quarterbacks.
The ugly opener subsequently revived calls forShedeur Sanders, who watched Week 1 from the sideline after losing the starting competition to Watson.

Watson’s contract remains an unavoidable part of that debate. Cleveland gave him a fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million deal in 2022, and his struggles since his arrival have made every poor performance harder for the organization to explain away.
Todd Monken is not changing quarterbacks yet. After reviewing the film on Monday, the Browns coach said he anticipates Watson starting in Week 2 against Tampa Bay and pointed to some positive plays he believes Cleveland can build on.
For now, Watson gets another start. For Browns fans, Acho argues that patience should not be unlimited because Cleveland once guaranteed him $230 million.
