Milwaukee Brewers get the vote MLB insiders would not give the Dodgers

The Milwaukee Brewers lead all of MLB with a 93-57 record and are well-positioned to make a World Series run.

ESPN recently polled 16 executives and scouts to gauge which club is the team to beat in each league as October nears. Six of the participants picked the Brewers.

A key detail about the surveying process is that nobody from a contending team was allowed to participate.

The participants pointed to Milwaukee’s pitching. The insiders rated the front of the rotation and the bullpen against anyone’s in the sport, with the team ERA close to where it finished 2025.

One NL scout in the poll had picked the Brewers a year ago. He named Jacob Misiorowski and Logan Henderson as the reason for picking them again. “That one-two combo can hang with the Dodgers,” the scout told ESPN.

Misiorowski is 14-5 with a 1.95 ERA. That ERA leads the majors. His 236 strikeouts also lead, and among qualified starters his 0.80 WHIP ranks first.

In 2022, Milwaukee drafted Misiorowski 63rd overall out of Crowder College. He debuted in June 2025.

The Brewers are 93-57 with 12 games remaining

The Brewers still have work to do in order to clinch the division, but entering Monday’s MLB slate, Milwaukee is the only team with over 90 wins in the league. Only the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays have even reached 90 wins.

A major factor behind support for Milwaukee’s outlook is the hitter-friendly American Family Field. A series there gives reason to be confident in how the Brewers score.

Cincinnati lost 20-0 in Milwaukee on Sept. 11, a result that was historic in its own right. William Contreras reached 1,000 innings caught that same week, the first Brewers catcher to do it in three straight seasons.

Los Angeles, which ended Milwaukee’s 2025 season, finished second

The Dodgers are the betting favorite to win the World Series at +195 as they pursue a third consecutive title. Milwaukee is next at +650, down from +750 a week ago.

However, Shohei Ohtani not being healthy enough to pitch late this season is a reservation an NL executive in the poll raised.

Milwaukee has 12 games left in its regular-season schedule, including a three-game set at Philadelphia from Sept. 22-24. If the Brewers avoid injuries and keep building momentum, they have a strong outlook to enter the postseason with MLB’s best record.
