MADISON − Wisconsin football was on the wrong side of a lopsided score in Week 1, suffering a 41-13 loss to then-No. 5 Notre Dame. The Badgers' Week 2 foe has been on the wrong side of some even more lopsided losses.
Western Illinois is coming off a 41-10 loss to fellow FCS team Illinois State. The Leathernecks also experienced a 52-3 loss to then-No. 12 Illinois and a 42-7 loss to Northwestern in 2025 and a 77-3 loss to Indiana in 2024.

That could lead to a prime bounce-back opportunity for Luke Fickell's Badgers, which are 38.5-point favorites in their home opener. The Sept. 12 game will kick off at 6:15 p.m. and air on Big Ten Network.
