Human remains found in Barrie belong to victim of 2025 double murder

Barrie Police have confirmed the identity of skeletal human remains discovered earlier this month in the south end of the city as William ‘Blake’ Robinson, 45, a victim of a 2025 double murder.

Robinson’s remains were discovered on Aug. 13, 2026, in a wooded area at Anne and Tiffin Sts., near a former encampment that was the site of a massive police investigation.
Last summer, Barrie Police arrested an individual in relation to the case.
Robert Ladouceur , 53, of Midland, Ont., remains in custody facing several criminal charges in connection with the deaths and dismemberment of the two victims –Robinson and 41-year-old David Cheesequay .
Ladouceur is facing first‑degree murder, second‑degree murder, committing an indignity to a human body, and several drug and weapons charges in connection with the murder and dismemberment of Robinson and Cheesequay.
Ladouceur faces a total of 33 charges in the double murder case.
The accused killer and the victims lived in same homeless encampment in Barrie said police at a press conference in August 2025 but wouldn’t say how the victims were killed or what motive accused may have allegedly had.

Murders weren’t random
“These were not random murders,” Sgt. Brett Carleton said at the news conference.
“Human remains were found both in Huntsville and in Barrie at the encampment. We know what the motive is, but, no, I can’t speak to that now. All I can say at this time is I knew they were acquaintances and all lived at the encampment at one time.”
Ladouceur was initially charged with 19 offences on Aug. 2. 2025 before additional charges were laid on Aug. 14, 2025.
Cops said what started as a missing persons case spanning from Barrie to Huntsville has turned into one of the largest investigations in the service’s history.
“I want to reassure our community that this appears to be an isolated occurrence,” Barrie Police Chief Rich Johnston said at the Aug. 2025 press conference.
“We are not looking for any additional suspects nor do we believe that there are additional victims. However, as was mentioned, this remains an ongoing investigation. Incidents like this are shocking and understandably shake our community, but they are exceedingly rare.”
Court documents obtained by CTV News show the alleged murder of Robinson took place on Jan. 18, with the dismemberment of a body occurring between Jan. 18 and Feb. 8.
Documents also show the second alleged murder, that of Cheesequay, took place on July 28, with the dismemberment of a body occurring between July 28 and Aug. 2.
Cheesequay was an active member of the skate community in Barrie.
