Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper joins Siwelele FC

Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Jody February has officially joined Siwelele FC on a season-season-long loan deal.

February, who has been with Sundowns since 2019, has found game time hard to come by, and this season, the club saw the need to loan him out.

He fills Ricardo Goss’ position after the Brazilians decided to recall him following a two-season stint with Siwelele.

February leaves Sundowns having only featured eight times for the Brazilians during his time with them.

In those eight official games, the 30-year-old goalkeeper conceded six goals and kept three cleansheets.

February had stints with both AmaZulu and the now defunct Moroka Swallows as game time looked hard to come by.

STIFF COMPETITION AT THE BRAZILIANS…

For February, it was always going to be difficult for him to command a regular place in the Sundowns starting line-up.

Ronwen Williamas, as the country’s No.1, has been the club’s stalwart at the back, and there is now Goss who’s back to compete.

There is also Denis Onyango and Reeyad Pieterse in the pecking order, and this left February as a fifth choice goalkeeper at Sundowns.
