Last week, we settled forever the rift among Husker fans of Sellout Streak – Yes or No?
And the result was that it will remain unsettled indefinitely. So…
Anyway, this week the question was where do Husker fans actually watch the Huskers the majority of the time? With a capacity of around 86,000 – for another season, anyway – and millions of fans in Nebraska and around the world, not everyone can fit in Memorial Stadium on Saturdays.
So where do people watch? I provided the most obvious choices – stadium, home, saloon, on radio and prison. If yours is other than one of those, please let us know in the comments. Have you got a funny story about an odd place you found yourself forced the Huskers, now is the perfect time to share it.
In addition, there’s poll results from the national crowd as well a couple others which seemed relevant this week. Read on!
- This was a landslide – 67% are firing up the grill, bowling up the chips and burger-ing up…ok, never mind all that; you’re hanging at home with the air conditioning, enjoying Hi-Def and a non-trough experience during commercial breaks.
- The friendly confines of Memorial Stadium – and in Saturday’s case, heatstroke – came in at #2 with 17% of CN’s voters.
- Saturday was nasty – lots of folks were wheeled out instead of walking out. The good news – 6pm kickoffs the next two weeks.
- Bar viewership, at least among our respondents was low at 4%. This actually seems to track a bit – with just about every FBS game now televised somewhere – and even quite a few FCS tilts as well – home isn’t just where the heart is. It’s where you control the remote.
- Beating out the tavern even was radio – I suspect you have frequent travelers and fans ho aren’t quite as immersed as others preferring to listen as they do Saturday chores, hike or run and other activities which can be combined with following along on the air pods.
- No one’s copping to being behind bars, eh? That’s fine. I’m watching you.
- The national crowd actually took the field over the Top 5 in a pretty evenly divided poll. With 27% of the vote.
- I have a couple of thoughts on this – 1) for all the complaining about NIL & the transfer portal, it truly has introduced more parity and that’s reflected in this vote. If we took it 5 years ago, Alabama and Georgia probably would have split that vote.
- 2) Indiana is #6 and a chunk of fans probably have a little more faith in the Hoosiers than pundits who are still slow with the respect even after a 16-0 season and national title.
- Looky, looky, here. Hero of the Arrowhead Game and former Husker Malcolm Hartzog is the portal addition about whom Arizona fans are most excited. Good for him – nothing but best wishes. Once a Husker, always a Husker.
- And speaking of former Huskers, there’s Dwight Bootle II in 3rd place.
- Well, that went bad quickly. 47% selected a Lane Kiffen administered beat-down.
- To be fair, I know the Lane Train is this week’s CFB villain. But seeing Dabo Sweeney get spanked into the toilet warms my heart. Never a fan and his incessant whining for a return to the old ways has grown old. Yes, we know you prefer the days of you making $11M a year while players were supposed to be grateful for schollies and you controlled their ability to transfer.
- And as Clemson’s slide from national champion to irrelevance continues, it appears it has grown old for recruits as well. 😈
- Sorry, Rutgers, I couldn’t resist. Should we try this poll again next week?
