The Golden State Warriors’ failed trade attempt for a star defender from last season has led to vicious responses from fans.
Since the departure of Bob Myers from the front office, the Golden State Warriors have struggled to make big moves to improve their roster during the twilight years of Stephen Curry.

Sure, the Dubs traded for Jimmy Butler, but it’s abundantly clear that the team requires more help if they want to win another NBA Championship.
The most obvious gap in the Warriors’ current roster is a defensive big man, and the franchise apparently had a chance to fill that last season via a trade for Jaren Jackson Jr.

NBA insider Anthony Slater revealed the Warriors’ intention to trade for the 2022-23 NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
However, the Dubs quickly backed out of the deal as Jackson Jr. was instead traded to the Utah Jazz.
“I’ll give you one that is probably talked about least in the last few years of swings and misses: it’s Jaren Jackson at the deadline. They were kind of sniffing around that,” Slater said.
Upon learning this, the Dub Nation heavily criticized the front office and their inability to give Curry a competitive roster post the dynasty era.
“Always exploring and always never to happen,” a fan wrote. While another added, “Warriors have the most pathetic front office in NBA history.”
“Lemme guess the trade fell through because the Warriors were unwilling to trade Pod or some s___,” a frustrated fan guessed.
“What does Mike Dunleavy do?” a fourth fan asked. While a fifth fan simply stated, “We’ve explored everyone in the league and got no one.”
In hindsight, the Warriors dodged a bullet with Jackson Jr. undergoing arthroscopic surgery and missing the entire season after his trade to the Jazz.
