Flyers Hometown Remix Jersey Rumored to Feature Slick New Design

· Yahoo Sports

The NHL introduced the “Hometown Remix” concept, which will give all 32 NHL teams a new alternate jersey for the coming 2026-27 season. It’s similar to the “City Connect” concept used by MLB, the “City Edition” in the NBA, or even the new NFL “Rivalries” concept.

It’s a way to work the cities’ heritage into new and different uniforms for the teams that play there.

While the Hometown Remix program has been officially announced, no other details, like what color the uniforms will be, have been confirmed. Back in February, rumors started swirling that the Flyers’ jersey will feature a dark grey or black base.

Now, let’s flash forward to the summer.

Back in June at the NHL Draft, the Flyers introduced a slick new logo with a design of the Liberty Bell.

The sweet, never-before-seen logo was front and center in the team’s draft room. It seemed like a cool way to playfully tease a new logo/jersey in the summertime while excitement was high for the draft. The Flyers did not wear their alternate jersey once last season. The thought of a new sweater on the way raised excitement.

In the moment, it seemed it was just a logo, and nothing more. The Athletic’s Kevin Kurz reported that the team’s draft room rug was not a purposeful leak of a third jersey, “at least for now,” as Kurz wrote.

Now, it’s rumored that the third jersey will in fact feature the Liberty Bell.

Well, NHL/hockey uniform and logo enthusiast “icethetics” recently broke down what he is hearing about the Hometown Remix jerseys, including launch dates, the full rollout, and even details on the actual uniforms.

Icethetics began with the Flyers.

In the video, he says, “An icthetics source confirms the Flyers’ jersey will be Liberty Bell themed.

He later goes on to say that the Liberty Bell will not be the crest. Rather, the Flyers logo that has been front and center on literally every uniform will remain at the front. Instead, the striping pattern will be “reminiscent of details found on the bell.”

It also seems as if it will be a dark grey uniform rather than black, which would be different.

The release of the Hometown Remix jerseys is expected to happen right after the season begins. Who is excited to see the Flyers’ new sweater?
