The New York Giants wrapped the preseason with a 23-6 victory over the New York Jets on Friday night at MetLife Stadium, finishing 2-1 under John Harbaugh before Sunday’s roster cuts.
New York trailed 6-0 after the opening drive, then controlled both lines of scrimmage and all three phases the rest of the way. With a number of projected starters held out, including quarterback Jaxson Dart, the snaps were distributed widely across the roster, as is typical in the preseason. Depth players and younger contributors saw extended opportunities while the Giants maintained their physical edge throughout.

For the second week in a row, rookie offensive lineman J.C. Davis led the team in snaps, this time logging 74 (96 percent on offense). He added five special teams snaps for good measure, and once again played quite well. He will make the team.
Fellow rookie Jack Kelly saw action on 66 percent of defensive plays and, like Davis, made a strong case for himself. In the hours and days after the draft, many questioned whether the Giants got a sixth-round steal in Kelly. The very early answer? They did.
Finally -- something worthy of a note -- Trace Ford took 30 defensive snaps and was arguably the best player on the field Friday night.
