Thursday Football Roundup: Huge second quarter lifts Jensen Beach to first win
· Yahoo Sports
JENSEN BEACH — The Jensen Beach High School football team used a second-quarter explosion to turn a close game into a runaway victory.
\nDre Lott tossed two of his three touchdown passes in the period, Alex Thornton added a rushing score, and the Falcons' defense thwarted Treasure Coast's run-heavy attack en route to a 33-2 victory Thursday, Aug. 27, at Jensen Beach High School.

\nThe game was called with 4 minutes, 47 seconds remaining in regulation because of lightning.
\nAfter dropping its Kickoff Classic at Eau Gallie and suffering a shutout loss to Vero Beach, Jensen Beach earned its first victory of the 2026 season.
\n"It feels good because we put up zero points in our last game," Lott said. "Our mentality in this game was to come out swinging. ... When we're playing in rhythm and as a team, nobody can stop us."

\nThe Falcons led 3-0 after the first quarter following a 35-yard field goal by Damien Heissenberg before striking midway through the second quarter, using three plays to travel 62 yards. The drive was highlighted by a 50-yard reception by Thorn Adderly and later capped by a 2-yard touchdown run by Thornton.
\nJensen Beach continued to roll on the ensuing drive as Lott completed four consecutive passes, the last resulting in a 12-yard touchdown pass to Sylvester Brinkley IV. After the Titans lost 14 yards on their next possession, the Falcons made good use of a short field, scoring on a 3-yard touchdown reception by Tyrie McFadden in the final seconds of the first half to take a 24-0 lead into halftime.
\n\nAs the Falcons' offense lit up the scoreboard, the defense was just as impressive. Jensen Beach did not allow a first down in the first half against Treasure Coast's Shotgun Wing-T offense and the misdirection that comes with it.
\nThe Titans managed only seven total yards of offense in the first half and finished with 47 yards for the game.
\n"The kids flew around and played assignment football. They didn't let the eye candy fool them," Falcons coach Tim Caffey said. "We harped on it this week: Do your job, don't guess, and let the other guys do their jobs."
\nTreasure Coast's lone points came in the third quarter when Austin Arthur sacked Lott in the end zone for a safety.
