Demonstrating a shared commitment to regional stability and maritime safety, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) successfully concluded the 2nd Edition of the joint maritime exercise ‘SAHYOG HOP-TAC’ off the Chennai coast today.

The strategic engagement featured a robust operational deployment comprising eight ICG ships, six aircraft, and the VCG ship CSB 8002, overseen jointly by the Director General, Indian Coast Guard, and the Vice Commandant, Vietnam Coast Guard.

Designed to refine tactical interoperability and streamline search-and-rescue operations, the high-intensity drills allowed both forces to standardize emergency protocols and build seamless coordination at sea.

The successful execution of this exercise marks a vital milestone in enhancing bilateral maritime security mechanisms, exchanging critical operational expertise, and reinforcing the enduring cooperation between India and Vietnam across the Indo-Pacific.
