Rosters are nearing their completion, and the Golden State Warriors have decided which route they want to take in their schemes. Stephen Curry made it clear that he is staying with the squad because of his desire to win another Larry O'Brien trophy. Warriors get Curry help with Niang signing

The Warriors have signed Georges Niang to a one-year minimum deal valued at $3.9 million, via Anthony Slater of ESPN. This now completes the roster that will surround Stephen Curry heading into the 2026-27 NBA season.

Niang isn't the only signing the Warriors made that day. They also got Brandon Williams. This makes them the only two free agents the organization signed outside its 2025-26 roster.

Aside from being a relentless trash-talker who gets under the skin of opponents, how does Niang fit into all of this?

For starters, Niang is an elite shooter who has been a big help to every team he joined throughout his nine-year career. He has a career 39.9% three-point field goal percentage on an average of 4.1 shots from outside. These are numbers the Warriors can use to stretch the floor more, given that their current squad still has Draymond Green and just added Yaxel Lendeborg.

Before missing the 2025-26 season due to a left foot fracture, Niang was starting to hit his stride with the Atlanta Hawks. He averaged a career-high 12.1 points with an insane 41.3% clip from three-point range. He also became active on the glass, as proven by his three-rebound average.

Surprisingly, the Warriors still need to improve their shooting efficiency, despite being led by Coach Kerr and Curry. They ranked only 16th in the NBA for three-point percentage because the squad knocked down a meager 35.7% of their shots.

When you look at the overall shooting picture, the numbers get even worse. The Warriors shot a poor 46.2% from the field during the 2025-26 season, which ranked 22nd in the league. Adding Niang means they at least have one player who won't be a liability in terms of shot diet.

Coach Kerr may not have the prettiest squad on paper, unlike most squads. However, they have exactly what they need and know their identity enough to make a possible postseason run.

The next and ultimate question is now: will this Warriors roster be enough to convince Curry to stay amid his pending free agency decision?
