The day commenced early in the morning with the school community gathering on the beautifully decorated amphitheater. The ceremony began with the prestigious flag hoisting, held in the august presence of Hon. Trustee Samir Bhujbal Sir, Campus Director Dr. Shefali Bhujbal, School Principal Shubhra Varma, alongside our esteemed Chief Guest and Guests of Honour.
Our Chief Guest, Hemant Rathi hoisted the National Flag. As the tricolour unfurled against the sky, the entire gathering stood at strict attention to sing the National Anthem, filling the air with a collective sense of unity and national pride.
Joining him as Guests of Honour were Ms. Pallavi Pande (Assistant GM - HR at Crompton Greaves) and Abhay Malpure (Vice President of Winjet), adding great intellectual depth and prestige to the celebration.
Following the flag hoisting, the campus came alive with student-led programs. The event beautifully blended cultural arts with health and discipline:
* Energetic Workout Drills: Students demonstrated physical agility and synchronization through lively and disciplined exercise routines.
* The school choir delivered a stirring rendition of a patriotic song, while students from various grades performed a vibrant, contemporary dance celebrating India's rich cultural heritage.
* In a powerful moment of civic responsibility, the entire school took a collective pledge for a "Nasha Mukt Bharat" (Drug-Free India), committing to a healthier and stronger nation.
* A student of Grade 8 demonstrated his free hand calligraphy skills on the floor by writing Happy Independence Day in saffron paint, thereby mesmerizing the guests and audience present.
Thought-Provoking Message on True Independence
The highlights of the day were the inspiring addresses from the dignitaries, which left the students with deep thoughts to ponder.
In a particularly striking speech, Abhay Malpure (VP, Winjet) challenged the audience with a powerful question: “Are we truly independent?” He urged the young minds to look beyond political freedom, pointing out that India is still heavily dependent on other nations for crucial resources like oil, gas, gold, and many other essential day-to-day items. His words served as a powerful call to action, inspiring the students to innovate, study hard, and work towards building a self-reliant and truly self-dependent India.
Adding to the wisdom of the day, Hemant Rathi and Ms. Pallavi Pande shared motivating thoughts on how freedom gives us the precious opportunity to dream, learn, and grow. The young minds of Meena Bhujbal School of Excellence were urged to channel the values of peace, responsibility, and academic dedication to bridge these economic gaps and build a stronger, self-sufficient nation.
The day concluded on a sweet note as traditional savouries were served as breakfast to everyone, leaving the students with happy hearts and a renewed commitment to the nation's future.
