The injury bug has followed Jordyn Tyson from Arizona State to the New Orleans Saints.

The eighth overall pick in the 2026 draft will be sidelined for two months due to a hamstring injury, multiple NFL sources are reporting. Tyson was impressive in early camp practices but sustained the injury in a joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars last week.

Tyson (6-2, 203 lbs) was in Tempe for three years and was injured each season. He spent his freshman season at Colorado in 2022, then transferred to ASU. He sat out the 2023 season because of a knee injury sustained while playing for the Buffaloes.

Tyson, 22, emerged as one of the top receivers in the country in his final two collegiate seasons when he totaled 136 catches for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdowns. His breakout 2024 season, one in which the Sun Devils won the Big 12 and advanced to the College Football Playoff, ended with a broken left collarbone sustained in the Territorial Cup game against Arizona to end the regular season.

His 2025 season was marred by a hamstring issue sustained in ASU's upset of Texas Tech. He missed three games but returned at the end of the season, although he sat out the Sun Bowl in preparation for the NFL draft.

Tyson did not participate in drills at the NFL Combine, which led to more discussion of his injury history and its possible impact on his draft stock.

He had a private workout in front of scouts from 18 organizations on April 17, with many clips circulating on social media, just ahead of the draft. Videos showed him running, making cuts, and leaping without any difficulty.
