Arteta, who has been in charge since 2019, signed his existing deal in 2024. With no renewal yet agreed, the Spaniard was asked ahead of Sunday’s Community Shield whether supporters should be concerned about his future.

His response was emphatic.

“No, they don’t have to worry about any of that because I want to be here, I’m extremely happy,” Arteta said.

The Arsenal manager added that he feels “very grateful” for the people he works with and expects the contractual situation to be resolved when the time is right.

Arteta suggested that neither side sees the situation as urgent, particularly with the club focused on preparing for another demanding campaign and continuing to strengthen the squad.

“I think because everybody feels comfortable that the time on the contract is not going to be an issue,” he said.

“My will certainly is to be here and I’m very happy here. And my feeling from the club is the same one.”

Arsenal are entering the new season after winning their first Premier League title in 22 years and reaching the Champions League final last term. The club have also been active in the transfer market, most notably completing the £75m signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United.

Arteta remains keen to improve his squad further, with Arsenal continuing to assess defensive options amid injuries to William Saliba and Jurrien Timber.

For now, however, the manager’s own future appears to be the least of his concerns.
