Russell Westbrook to receive offer outside NBA

Russell Westbrook announced his retirement from the NBA on Wednesday. However, fans could still see him play in another league if he accepts a potential offer.

“”We’ll give him a week,” Ice Cube said. “People want to see him play regardless if he plays in the NBA or not, people want to see him play. He still has millions of fans who would love to see him come out and play in the BIG3.”

Westbrook reportedly received interest from at least two NBA teams but decided to call it a career. He entered the league as the No. 4 pick in 2008 out of UCLA. The 37-year-old is hanging his sneakers for good as a one-time MVP, nine-time All-Star and nine-time All-NBA team member. He also earned two ASG MVP honors and was part of the league’s 75th anniversary team.

Westbrook has 27,176 points, 9.025 rebounds and 10,351 assists over his legendary career. He remains the all-time leader in triple-doubles; however, Nikola Jokic is closing in with 198.

The California native played for seven NBA franchises, including last season with the Sacramento Kings. He enjoyed the best run of his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2008 to 2019. Westbrook reached the Finals in 2012 alongside Kevin Durant and James Harden but lost to the LeBron James-led Miami Heat.
