Kitchener teen charged in Burlington home invasion; Toronto man arrested for sexual assault

Halton Police nabbed a man in connection with a home invasion.
On April 26, at approximately 2:40 a.m., police allege that four suspects broke into a home in the southwest Aldershot area of Burlington.
Police say the suspects gained entry into the home by smashing in a first-floor window. The residents were asleep and were woken up by the sound of breaking glass. The suspects were armed with a firearm and a knife, confronting the residents with demands for valuables. The residents handed over several pieces of jewelry before the suspects fled in a stolen vehicle.
Assisted by the York Regional Police, one of the suspects was identified and charged with three offences.
Manav Kotak, 18, of Kitchener, was arrested on June 25 and charged with armed robbery, pointing a firearm and disguise with intent.
The investigation remains ongoing, as investigators work to identify and arrest the outstanding suspects.

Toronto man accused of sex assault
On July 16, Durham Regional Police began an investigation after a female victim reported being sexually assaulted by a male she met through an online dating application called ‘BLK.’
The suspect was identified on Aug.12 and arrested without incident.
Gregory Binns, 27, is charged with sexual assault, assault by choking and forcible confinement.
Binns was held for a bail hearing.
Police are concerned about the possibility of other alleged victims.

Three teenagers arrested in Brampton
Investigators with Peel Region’s 21 Division Community Intervention and Response Team (CIRT) have arrested and charged three males in relation to reckless driving of dirt bikes in Brampton.
In April, Peel regional Police say CIRT launched Project Rogue Riders in response to several community complaints regarding the disregard for public safety. The dirt bikes were observed driving on park pathways, sidewalks, failing to stop for stop signs and driving at high speeds.
On July 23, officers executed search warrants at two residences in Brampton where they seized six dirt bikes and arrested and charged the teens, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
A 15-year-old was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, three counts of stunt driving and two counts of careless driving; a 17-year-old was charged with breach of recognizance and careless driving; and a 13-year-old was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, stunt driving and careless driving.

Man wanted for sexual assault
York Regional Police are on the hunt for a suspect in connection with a mid-week sexual assault in Richmond Hill.
On Wednesday, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the victim was in the area of Hwy. 7 E. and Bayview Ave. when she was approached by an unknown male.
Police allege the male grabbed the victim, attempted to cover her mouth and touched her for a sexual purpose. The victim was able to free herself. The suspect fled the area on foot.
The suspect is described as male, black, six-feet tall, with short hair and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants while carrying a black suitcase.
