Douglas Luiz believes he can finally establish himself at Juventus, insisting he is “becoming convinced” his future lies in Turin after marking the club’s pre-season win over Nice with a goal.

“The training camp went very well. I’m in good shape and happy with the opportunity I’ve been given,” he said. “Today I managed to score, and that’s very important to me, because this is where I want to be.”

Douglas Luiz responds to Spalletti’s backing at Juventus
Central to his renewed optimism is the faith shown by Luciano Spalletti, whose approval Douglas Luiz values above all.
“I’m really pleased with his opinion, which is obviously the most important thing for me,” the midfielder said. “The work done over the last three weeks is making me understand things and allowing me to grow in training and in matches. I’m becoming convinced that I can stay at this club.”
Signed two years ago but rarely trusted since, Douglas Luiz is determined to seize a second chance. “That’s what I want,” he added. “Two years ago I was bought but didn’t get many chances to play. Now I’m rediscovering them, and that’s exactly what I want.”
