Angel Reese Raises Eyebrows for How She Reacted Towards Her Teammate Before Atlanta Dream’s Narrow Win Over Dallas Wings

The Atlanta Dream looked destined to suffer their first loss to the Dallas Wings this season on Wednesday night. For much of this game, Paige Bueckers and her teammates kept Atlanta on their back foot and even led by as many as 15 points. So when the Dream found themselves trailing by just five in the closing minutes, every possession mattered. So when Angel Reese did get the ball despite asking for it during a golden transition opportunity, she couldn’t hide her frustration.
With the Wings leading 76-71 in the fourth quarter, Rhyne Howard secured a defensive rebound, and Reese immediately sprinted ahead for a fast break. However, Howard never saw her, and the Dream star threw her hands up in frustration as the broadcast team pointed out that it wasn’t the first time this had happened.

“That’s the second time now; she’s streaked down in transition and hasn’t been found,” one of the broadcasters said.
Earlier this week, Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers made a friendly $400 wager over which team would come out on top in this game. So Reese’s competitive edge was full on display, as she even caught herself exchanging words with Bueckers following an offensive foul just minutes into the opening quarter.
Yet even with the fire, it looked like Reese was all set to lose – the game and the bet. Before the final quarter, the Wings tied the first (16-16) and won the other two (22-16, 26-20) before the Dream erupted for 30 points in the final 10 minutes. They almost tied the game, and the major credit for that goes to Allisha Gray.
To lead her team to an 82-81 win, Gray finished the night with 25 points. 5 of them came in the crucial final 18.7 seconds, where she knocked down three free throws before converting the go-ahead basket on the ensuing possession to seal a victory.
Angel Reese finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds for her 18th double-double of the season. On the other side, Arike Ogunbowale paced Dallas with 24 points, Azzi Fudd added 20, and Paige Bueckers chipped in 16.
With this win, the Dream have now extended their winning streak to four games. But despite completing another comeback and winning the friendly wager, Reese made it clear that she wasn’t satisfied with how her team performed.
“I don’t think we want the games to look like that at all. Playoff atmosphere – that’s what it felt like tonight because Dallas is a playoff team. And we have to be a lot better. We’re going to look at our film and see the things that we made mistakes on and how we can be a lot better. But it’s nothing like having a win after the All-Star break,” Angel Reese said during her postgame interview.
The Dream will now look to carry the momentum of their four-game win streak into their next matchup against the Seattle Storm as they continue their climb up the WNBA standings.
