One of the most anticipated events of the baseball offseason is December's Winter Meetings, the annual summit where big league executives try to break the bank and lure the best free agents to their respective teams.

This year might be different with the battle between players and owners, and if the two sides don't hammer out a new collective bargaining agreement by December 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET, baseball is heading for a lockout.
In case a deal gets done by then – which looks highly unlikely – the players listed below can look forward to a courting session that doesn't involve the talk of a salary cap. And some players on this list might not even be with their current teams, as the trade deadline is set for August 3 at 6 p.m. ET.
