According to The Sun, the Norwegian forward is one of several names on Tottenham’s extensive shortlist, with Roberto De Zerbi looking to bolster his attacking options.
Tottenham have been one of the most active clubs in the market this summer.
After finishing 17th in the Premier League in back-to-back seasons, Spurs have switched gears as they look to return to the upper echelons of English football.
They want to avoid another campaign flirting with relegation and have seriously backed De Zerbi this summer.
Tottenham have already signed Marco Senesi, Andrew Robertson, Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke to strengthen both their backline and midfield.
But they’re not done with the market just yet, especially after De Zerbi admitted that Spurs still need further attacking reinforcements to be competitive next season.
Nusa is generally considered one of the finest young attacking talents in Europe.
The 21-year-old gave potential suitors a glimpse of what he’s capable of at the World Cup, making six appearances for Norway and scoring the opening goal in their last-16 victory over Ivory Coast.
Nusa also played in the quarter-finals, coming off the bench as Norway suffered a narrow extra-time defeat to England. His performances have only strengthened Leipzig’s position in negotiations.
The Bundesliga side are reportedly demanding around £51 million for the winger after he contributed four goals and three assists in 31 league appearances last season.
Leipzig’s asking price may not be a problem for Tottenham. They’ve already shown that they’re not afraid to splash the cash this summer.
However, they’ll face serious competition from north London rivals Arsenal in the race to sign Nusa.
Tottenham have already spent a fortune this summer, so they’ll need to offload some players before making any further additions to De Zerbi’s team.
The likes of Lucas Bergvall, Manor Solomon and Mikey Moore are expected to make way, while Rodrigo Bentancur’s future is also up in the air.
