Brewers prospect Blake Burke hits three homers for Class AA Biloxi

Slugging Milwaukee Brewers first-base prospect Blake Burke left the yard three times, while fellow prospect teammate Josiah Ragsdale hit two and Andrew Fischer notched his 30th bomb of the season for Class AA Biloxi on July 24, all needed in a 10-7 win over Chattanooga.

Catcher Matthew Wood wound up with the biggest blast of the night, a two-run homer to break a tie in the top of the ninth that marked the Shuckers' seventh homer of the night. Fischer added a sacrifice fly in the frame for his 20th RBI since arriving in Biloxi (29 games).

Burke, the No. 18 prospect in the organization according to MLB Pipeline and one of the team's first-round draft picks in 2024, deposited his third blast of the game in the eighth, turning a 6-5 deficit into a 7-6 lead on the road.

Burke came into the game with 21 home runs already this season and a .906 OPS, plus an impressive 23 stolen bases for the 6-3, 236-pound slugger. He didn't have a chance to steal Friday, hitting homers in each of his first two at-bats and finishing 3-for-4 with four driven in.

He stepped to the plate with two on and one out in the ninth with a chance for a fourth homer, but he was hit by a pitch on the foot to load the bases.

It was an eventful game in the context of an eventful week for the Shuckers, who've become the central hub of Milwaukee's vaunted farm system, including with the promotion of catching prospect Marco Dinges to the level from Class High A Wisconsin on July 23. The lineup also features Jesús Made, the top-ranked prospect in the organization, and Josh Adamczewski, the organization's top outfielder who made a diving catch in the ninth for the second out.

The Shuckers pitching staff took a combined no-hitter into the ninth inning July 21 and another one into the sixth on July 23. Then came the Friday night game with seven homers.

Ragsdale, ranked No. 14 in the system by MLB Pipeline, hit two homers in the game. He now has six in 18 games since getting promoted to Biloxi, and he came into the night with a .975 OPS. Overall this year, he has 13 homers and 30 steals.

Andrew Fischer, meanwhile, hit his 30th homer of the year between two levels, and his 10th in 29 games at Biloxi. Fischer, the team's first-round pick in 2025 and No. 7 prospect according to Pipeline, had a gaudy 1.002 OPS at AA heading into the night.

According to the Shuckers' Javik Blake, it's the third Brewers prospect to have a 30-homer season in the minors and first since 2001 ... and Fischer reached the milestone with more than a month of season left.

In just more than a year since he began playing in the Brewers organization, Fischer has a 1.032 OPS.
