Massimiliano Allegri’s Napoli reign got off to a difficult start, with the Partenopei beaten 3-1 by Arezzo in their first pre-season outing.
As per TuttoMercatoWeb, Allegri named a strong side featuring Alex Meret, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Amir Rrahmani, Frank Anguissa and Rasmus Hojlund, but it was the Tuscan side who impressed.

Cerri headed them ahead on 11 minutes, Gilli doubled the lead just before the hour, and although Matteo Politano pulled one back from the penalty spot on 60 minutes, Mavulli struck again late on to seal a comfortable win. Napoli, in truth, still looked heavy-legged.

Lucca injury could shape Napoli’s transfer plans
The bigger concern came in the closing stages, with Lorenzo Lucca forced off in the 85th minute. Napoli have confirmed a sprained right ankle, with his condition to be assessed in the coming days, it is too early to establish the severity.
The timing carries transfer significance. Napoli are not alarmed at this stage but want clarity: a short absence of days or a couple of weeks would be unlikely to deter suitors, whereas a longer lay-off could stall any negotiation. Fiorentina, notably, are watching with interest as they weigh their own attacking options.
Fiorentina edge past Gubbio
The Viola, meanwhile, made a winning start, beating Gubbio 1-0 in their first proper friendly of the summer.
Albert Gudmundsson converted a first-half penalty won by new signing Arthur Atta, with Oulaì handed his debut after the break. The right-sided partnership of Dodo and Fortini caught the eye, though Moise Kean spurned a couple of decent chances.
