The Los Angeles Lakers have made some very intriguing moves at the center position, specifically adding Walker Kessler.

The Lakers also made a play for Kevon Looney, and Sandro Mamukelashvili can also play the position when needed. While the Lakers seem rather set at the five, it's been well reported that superstar Luka Doncic has made his feelings clear: he wants above-average center play.

If the Lakers were to deal with an injury to Kessler, there's a good scenario in which Los Angeles wouldn't be great at the five. According to the latest report from The Athletic, the Lakers are still actively looking for a big man, even after all of the moves they've already made.

“The Lakers are still monitoring the market for big men, team sources told The Athletic. They traded for Walker Kessler and signed Kevon Looney to play center, and Mamukelashvili can play the position, too. The team could address the position either by trade or signing, like with potentially adding Thybulle. The roster is currently at full capacity,” Dan Woike wrote.

I'm curious to see which direction the Lakers decide to go here. As things currently stand, there's probably a much better chance they'll be in the market for a cheap center they can land on a veteran minimum deal.

Perhaps they want to go the trade market, but the Lakers have some decisions to make in that regard. Regardless, I feel like this is a smart idea.
