PSG Accelerate Pursuit of Maghnes Akliouche as Second Summer Signing

After signing Alessandro Longoni, PSG is accelerating the pursuit of its second signing of the summer transfer window, Maghnes Akliouche. A deal that is expected to move quickly.

PSG has officially announced only one signing since the start of the summer transfer window, which opened on June 15, but there is no need to panic, as the market has not really begun yet and serious business is expected to pick up starting next week, once the 2026 World Cup is over.

Luis Campos has been at work for months and has already identified several potential signings. As was learned just before his difficult semifinal against Spain, Lucas Digne will return to PSG, 10 years after his transfer to Barcelona.

The France and Aston Villa left back, who will soon celebrate his 33rd birthday, is expected to sign a three-year contract with PSG, which has already informed the English club that it will pay the player's release clause, less than €10 million, after the World Cup.

However, PSG is primarily looking to strengthen its attack this summer since Gonçalo Ramos has already left for AC Milan and Lee Kang-in is close to signing with Atletico Madrid. Ibrahim Mbaye also appears more likely than ever to leave, while Bradley Barcola's future remains uncertain.

PSG therefore needs fresh blood in attack and is targeting several players: Ferran Torres to replace Ramos, Maghnes Akliouche to replace Lee, and Diomande to potentially replace Mbaye and/or Barcola.

Regarding Akliouche, who has already agreed to a five-year contract with PSG, the challenge is convincing AS Monaco, which is asking for €50 million, or €15 million more than what PSG has offered so far. However, negotiations are in full swing and, according to L'Equipe, PSG, Monaco, and Akliouche all want to complete the transfer quickly.

Unlike the Diomande deal, which remains highly uncertain and appears likely to drag on, the Monaco player's situation is much clearer and should not turn into a lengthy transfer saga.

It can be assumed that everything will accelerate starting this weekend or next week once Saturday night's France-England match is over, and PSG will do everything possible to sign the French winger before its World Cup players return to training. Those who reached the semifinals of the World Cup, such as Akliouche, will only have three weeks of vacation and are expected back at the Campus around Aug. 8-9.

In addition to Longoni, Digne, Akliouche, and possibly Diomande and Torres, PSG is still reportedly targeting a center-back capable of filling in at right-back. However, no credible target has emerged for that position so far, but there is little doubt that Luis Campos is working on it and that things will move quickly once a name emerges in the media.
