Two people busted as gun, ammo, drugs, cash seized in Scarborough

Two accused drug dealers face an assortment of charges after they were allegedly caught with a handgun, ammunition and illicit drugs in Scarborough on Tuesday.

Toronto Police say officers executed a Criminal Code search warrant near Birchmount Rd. And St. Clair Ave. E. around 11 p.m.

“It is alleged that an illegal handgun, extended magazine and ammunition were located and seized,” police said in a statement released Wednesday.

Police also claim “various quantities of illegal drugs, Canadian and American currency were located and seized.”

Two suspects were subsequently taken into custody.

Ryan McQuinn, 34, of Toronto, is charged with three counts of uttering threats; three counts of criminal harassment; one count of having face disguised; three counts of possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking; possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace; four counts of possession of a prohibited weapon/device/ammunition knowing no authority; one count of use/handle/store firearm carelessly; one count of possession of a prohibited firearm; one count of knowingly not holding a license and registration certificate; two counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited; and one count of possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Reka Balogh, 22, of Toronto, is charged with three counts of possess of a schedule I substance for trafficking; one count of possession of a weapon; one count of possession of a prohibited device or ammunition; two counts of careless storage of a firearm/ammunition; one count of possession of a firearm knowing its unauthorized; three counts of possession of a prohibited device/restricted weapon; and one count of possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Both accused were scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
