Rams' Puka Nacua Receives Odd Ranking in Top Wide Receiver List

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua has emerged as one of the top receivers in the NFL; however, a recent ranking could put that into question.
ESPN writer Jeremy Fowler has gathered results from his surveys from NFL coaches, executives, and scouts for each position on offense and defense, with the receiver rankings being the latest to be released.

In the wide receiver rankings, Puka Nacua was ranked No. 4, which is quite surprising, especially when considering the fact that he had nearly 300 more yards than the next closest receiver. The players ahead of Nacua were Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jamar Chase at No. 1, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson at No. 2, and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba at No. 3.
The craziest part about this list is the fact that at least one voter had Nacua unranked. After the season Nacua had, that seems very questionable. During the 2025 season, Nacua totaled 129 receptions (No. 1 in the NFL), 1,715 receiving yards (No. 2 in the NFL), 10 receiving touchdowns (Tied for No. 3 in the NFL), 107.2 receiving yards per game (No. 1 in the NFL), and 80 first downs (No. 1 in the NFL).
Regardless of what statistics the NFL looks at, it is undeniable that Nacua was one of the most dominant receivers in the entire league. For Nacua to be unranked simply does not make any sense when looking at his production and the attention that he garners from opposing defenses.
"Strong hands, contact balance, ability to block in the run game, run after the catch, run through the catch, can go get it, can play any spot. Complete receiver," one NFL coordinator said.
The run after the catch element is another strong element of Nacua's game as he ranked No. 1 in the NFL in yards after the catch with 668 yards. That explosive play ability is one of the factors that make him so dangerous and why he is one of the most effective targets in the entire league.
In addition to Nacua's receiving production, he also graded out as an elite receiver in the PFF grades. Last season, Nacua received a PFF grade of 96.3, which ranked No. 1 among all receivers, and had a passer rating of 129.6 when targeted, ranking No. 2 among all receivers.
Simply put, Nacua was one of the most dangerous receivers in the league by any metric, and heading into 2026, his physical tools and chemistry with quarterback Matthew Stafford could help him to leave no doubt that he is the NFL's best wide receiver.
Davante Adams Makes The Top 10The good news for the Rams is that fellow wide receiver Davante Adams was also able to make the top 10. On Fowler's rankings, Adams was ranked as high as No. 6, which shows the respect that the NFL still has for Adams.
"His instincts and route running are still there even as his athletic traits have declined. He just knows how to get open," an NFC executive stated.
Throughout Adams career, he has consistently been able to find ways to get open and based on his production as well as statements from people around the NFL, it seems that Adams is still one of the toughest covers in the entire league.
In 2025, Adams most impressive statistic was the fact that he led the NFL in touchdown receptions with 14, with many of them coming in the red zone. In just one season together, Stafford and Adams established a great connection and heading into their second season together, Stafford and Adams could be just as effective.
