‘There’s no loyalty’: Jaylen Brown makes his feelings on NBA clear after Celtics trade

Jaylen Brown admitted he’s still processing his trade to the Philadelphia 76ers during his recent appearance on IShowSpeed’s livestream, when the two were watching the World Cup quarterfinals match between France and Morocco.
In the video, the former Boston Celtics star gave a stern warning to IShowSpeed and to the rest of the fans who plan to enter the NBA one day. Brown didn’t beat around the bush when he described the cutthroat industry he’s currently in.

“I just got traded… It’s a crazy business, bro. Don’t become a basketball player. There’s no loyalty, there’s no love. They packed me up, sayonara chat, I’m out of here,” Brown told IShowSpeed.
Brown remains understandably bitter about the Celtics’ surprising decision to offload him this summer. He is coming off a breakout 2025-26 campaign, where he finished sixth in MVP voting after carrying the team while Jayson Tatum was recovering from an Achilles injury.

Kevin Garnett is among those who hated the Celtics’ decision to trade Jaylen Brown for an older Paul George and several future draft picks, as he believes that his former team shouldn’t have broken up the fruitful partnership between Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
“This is one of those moments where you don’t break a great thing up. This was a great thing,” Garnett said on KG Certified. “Keeping it real, those two have been tested through thick and thin. This is just a relationship. It ain’t always going to be great. But it would’ve taken something detrimental for me to break that up.”
“That was probably the most dynamic duo in the league. They played off each other. They had a great supporting cast, great coaching, all that. It’s hard to get that mix perfect like that,” he continued.
With Brown no longer around, the Celtics have made it clear that this is Jayson Tatum’s team. But for them to be successful, Derrick White, Payton Pritchard, Hugo Gonzalez, Baylor Scheierman, Ron Harper Jr., and Jordan Walsh all have to step up.
