Kane’s post-match interview made the rounds on social media because he lost his voice. But after a good night’s sleep and some tea time, the Three Lions’ striker took to social media to share an update on his condition.

“First of all, as you can hear, my voice is back. I mean, what an all-timer of an interview last night, that was. Glad to see everyone having a good laugh about it, all over social media. But yeah, it was the perfect interview to end a perfect night,” Kane posted on X.

“Going into that game was so special. The atmosphere, the stadium was just, I think everyone was so excited just to be there and play in this iconic game,” he continued. “And then to kind of come through the adversities during the game, and battle the way we did, and put our bodies on the line, and boys covering every blade of grass — was just incredible to be a part of, to be honest. It’s one of my favorite games in an English shirt without a doubt.”

Harry Kane hits incredible scoring feat after scoring for England against Mexico

With his penalty during the hour mark against Mexico, Harry Kane has scored six World Cup goals this year, marking only the second time an England player has hit that tally in a major competition after Gary Lineker (1986) and Kane himself (2018). Overall, he now has 14 World Cup goals.

England were down to 10 men after Jarell Quansah received a straight red card in the 54th minute, but the Three Lions stayed resolute under immense pressure from one of the quadrennial tournament’s co-hosts.

The Three Lions’ reward is a third consecutive World Cup quarterfinal, and 11th overall. Only Brazil (15) and Germany (14) have reached more in the competition’s history. They will be up against Norway this weekend, who just won 2-1 against Brazil.
