Bayern among teams eyeing Koundé (ESPN)

If this report is to be believed, Bayern Munich is among the clubs looking at FC Barcelona and France defender Jules Koundé.

The problem? The Bavarians will have to outduel Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City to get Koundé:

Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Bayern Munich have been alerted over a potential deal for Barcelona and France defender Jules Koundé, as reported by TEAMtalk. Chelsea are long-term admirers of the right back and haven’t ruled themselves out of the running despite already signing Marco Palestra for £47 million from Atalanta, while Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City have been watching the 27-year-old. Bayern Munich are also considering a move, but Manchester United are focusing more on the signing of a left back.

Koundé has played most of his career at center-back, but has also played extensively at right-back as well. That could make him attractive to Bayern Munich, but a few players sales would have to happen to make him financially attainable for FC Bayern.

Barca wants United striker Šeško (CaughtOffside)

FC Barcelona wants a striker and could be looking at Manchester United striker Benjamin Šeško, who had an up-and-down season for the Red Devils:

Barcelona are looking at the Premier League as they search for a new centre-forward, but Manchester United have made it clear that Benjamin Šeško is not available this summer.

Barcelona have placed the Slovenian striker on their list of alternatives if they fail to land their main target, Julián Álvarez, sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside.

The Atlético Madrid forward remains the preferred option, but that deal is extremely difficult, with Atletico standing firm and Barcelona expected to need a huge package to change the situation.

Going to Manchester United always carries some risk. For Šeško, it was an uneven first season in England. While a change of scenery might be nice (especially at FC Barcelona), it seems too early.

Juve back in on Goretzka? (ESPN)

Juventus was rumored to be out of the mix for Leon Goretzka, but might actually be back in on the Germany international:

Juventus have resumed contact with free agent Leon Goretzka following the midfielder’s departure from Bayern Munich, as reported by Sky Italia. The 31-year-old will now consider where he wants to continue his career following Germany’s elimination from the World Cup, but the Bianconeri’s transfer priorities are still a goalkeeper and striker. With that in mind, a deal is reportedly already done, albeit not confirmed, for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Goretzka actually had a decent World Cup showing despite the lack of minutes. In his case, there are a lot of factors that will go into where he ultimately signs.

Saudis to get Salah? (ESPN)

Rumors have been swirling for months that Mo Salah could be headed to Saudi Arabia, and the Saudis still remain the most likely destination for the former Liverpool star:

The Saudi Pro League is the most likely destination for free agent Mohamed Salah following his departure from Liverpool, according to The Mirror. The 34-year-old winger has plenty of options but is refusing to make a decision on his future until Egypt’s World Cup campaign has come to an end. A return to Italy to represent Internazionale, Roma or Juventus could be on the cards, while top Turkish Super Lig clubs like Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are keeping a close eye on the situation and Major League Soccer clubs could also make a move. It is claimed Chelsea could try to re-sign Salah, but that it is unlikely.

Openda gaining interest (Gazzetta dello Sport via ESPN)

Former RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda is not quite getting the same kind of transfer attention he was getting while with Die Roten Bullen, but he could make the move away from Juventus anyway:

Lens, Lyon, Rennes and Coventry City are all interested in Juventus striker Lois Openda.

NUFC eyeing Manzambi (TeamTalk)

Newcastle United could be plotting a move for one of the World Cup’s breakout stars — Switzerland and SC Freiburg attacker Johan Manzambi:

Newcastle are looking at Freiburg and Switzerland international midfielder Johan Manzambi.

Manzambi is a very nice player and it will be curious to see how long SC Freiburg can hold on to him.
