On Saturday morning, four-star cornerback Censere Gaylord, a product of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, announced on Instagram that he will be revealing his college pledge on Saturday, July 11, from a final three of Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Washington, after taking official visits to the programs in May and June. His top four had also included Auburn, but the 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back never arrived on his June 19 official visit.
Ranked as the No. 113 overall prospect and No. 13 cornerback in the 2027 class by 247Sports, Gaylord would be an impressive victory for defensive coordinator Ryan Walters and secondary coach John Richardson to get him to spurn coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs and move back to the West Coast.
Washington currently holds projections from both 247Sports and Rivals to land the coveted cornerback, who boasts 32 offers from most of the nation's elite programs, and has the skill set to make an immediate impact in Walters' secondary thanks to his coverage skills and physicality as a tackler.
"Confident in run support and will look to sweep legs on the perimeter," 247Sports' Andrew Ivins wrote in his evaluation.
"Will eventually need to add some mass to a slender frame that has been verified at just over 6 feet, but should be viewed as a potential glove at the Power Four level that could see the field early with his polish...Testing profile (4.48 in the 40) signals legitimate NFL upside."
That marks two critical targets in Washington's class set to announce on July 11, as four-star offensive lineman DaJohn Yarborough will also choose from a final four that includes the Huskies alongside California, Florida State, and Mississippi State.
