The Cincinnati Reds may be in the middle of an inconsistent season, but Chase Burns is pitching at an extremely high level. Burns, 23, is in his second big league season and he already looks like one of the best pitchers in the game. The MLB All-Star rosters will be announced this weekend, and it would be shocking if Burns did not earn a selection. "It's gonna be a huge accomplishment," Burns said. "But at the end of the day, I'm not really worried about it. It is what it is, it's in God's hands. So I'm just thankful for the opportunity to be in that talk."
Burns has pitched to a stellar 2.40 ERA across his 17 outings this season. He has recorded 116 strikeouts in 97.2 innings on the mound. Burns has established himself as an ace.
Of course, the Reds already have an ace, but Hunter Greene has yet to pitch this season due to injury. He is expected to return on Saturday and make his season debut, though. Cincinnati is set to feature one of the best front of the starting rotation duos in all of MLB with Greene and Burns leading the way.
It could take Greene some time to find his rhythm on the mound after missing the first few months of the season. Nevertheless, he will make a significant impact. He is one of the better pitchers in the game without question.

The pitchers are still going to need help from the offense. Cincinnati's lineup has endured ups and downs throughout the season. Nevertheless, this Reds ball club could certainly still make things interesting in the NL Wild Card standings.
