SASSA Reminder: Here’s when children’s grant payments are expected this month
· The South African

SASSA has issued a reminder to caregivers and guardians regarding the payment of children’s grants for July. The agency confirmed that Children’s Grants, which include the Child Support Grant and Foster Child Grant, will be paid from Monday, 6 July.
Caregivers are encouraged to check their grant status in advance via official channels to avoid confusion or unnecessary travel to pay points.

SASSA Digital verification encouraged
SASSA used the opportunity to promote its e-Life Certification system, designed to ease pressure on beneficiaries who would otherwise need to visit offices physically. “This platform is accessible via the SASSA Online Services Portal, offering a user-friendly interface and secure biometric verification,” the agency explained.
The system forms part of SASSA’s broader push toward digitising grant services, reducing long queues and improving turnaround times for beneficiaries across the country.
Caution advised against scams
The agency reminded caregivers to remain vigilant against fraudulent schemes targeting grant recipients, particularly during payment periods when scam activity tends to increase. The agency has urged the public to verify any communication claiming to be from SASSA before sharing personal information.
Beneficiaries who suspect irregularities in their grant payments are advised to report them directly to SASSA rather than tothird parties. The agency continues to emphasise its mandate of paying the right grant to the right person at the right time.
Caregivers are also reminded to ensure their banking and contact information remains up to date in SASSA’s system, as outdated details can result in payment delays. Further updates on payment status will be communicated through official platforms.
