The Atlanta Braves have been on a rough stretch for over two weeks now, and it has reached the point where they are simply struggling to find consistency. The Braves have also watched a 10-game lead over the Philadelphia Phillies disappear.

Injuries have played a major role in Atlanta’s recent struggles. At a certain point, the Braves will need to turn things around, especially with the Phillies closing in quickly.

“The tailspin has caught up with them in the standings. Meanwhile, the Phillies have been a wagon since Don Mattingly took over for Rob Thomson and became the interim manager. Over the course of the month, they have gained six and a half games on the Braves. The cushion for first place is now just three games. For now, they're taking the mindset of this being a long season, and early leads were never going to indicate anything,” SI’s Harrison Smajovitts wrote.

Braves manager Walt Weiss shared his mindset following the series loss on Sunday, making it clear he is not focused on the standings or Philadelphia’s surge.

“I don't care what the lead is. I could care less. We had a big lead early. There were several months to go. I'm not worried about anybody else but ourselves right now,” Weiss said.

The Braves know they need to snap out of their slump as quickly as possible. Rough stretches are part of a long season, but for Mauricio Dubón, he did not sugarcoat Atlanta’s recent performance.

“We had a sh*t month, we had things that didn’t go our way,” Dubón told The Athletic’s Jesus Cano.

Dubón has contributed in multiple ways for the Braves this season and understands what the team is capable of when playing at its best. However, the last month of baseball has not reflected the standard Atlanta is used to.

Having a voice like Dubón in the clubhouse helps keep things grounded as the calendar turns toward July. He is known for being direct, and right now, the results speak for themselves. The Braves will look to bounce back starting with a seven-game homestand, followed by a six-game road trip before the All-Star break.
