What does Wisconsin’s 2027 roster project to look like with No. 2 recruiting class in country?
· Yahoo Sports
The Wisconsin Badgers got some major news this week with their 2027 recruiting class, as four-star wing/forward Baboucarr Ann committed to the program.
Ann was the team’s third commit in the 2027 class and the highest-rated one on the 247Sports Composite rankings, sliding in as a top-65 prospect in the cycle. He had been a top target of Wisconsin’s for months, and the Badgers seemed to be leaders in the clubhouse up until Ann’s decision this week.

A 6’5, 180-pound wing, Ann is the No. 1 player in the state of Minnesota and gives Wisconsin the No. 2 recruiting class in the country currently.
While we’ve still got the full 2026-27 season ahead of us, let’s take an early look at what the 2027-28 roster could look like for the Badgers.
Projected Roster for 2027-28
G Owen Foxwell (senior)
G Jack Janicki (senior)
F Austin Rapp (senior)
G Hayden Jones (junior)
G Zach Kinziger (junior)
C Will Garlock (junior)
G Jackson Ball (sophomore)
G Josh Manchester (sophomore)
F LaTrevion Fenderson (sophomore)
F Isaac Riddle (sophomore)
G Jalen Brown (freshman)
F Baboucarr Ann (freshman)
C Jack Thelen (freshman)
Wisconsin currently has 13 players projected to have eligibility in 2027-28. They’ll lose Nolan Winter after the season. The same goes for transfer additions Eian Elmer, Trey Autry, and Victory Onuetu, who are all seniors.
But the Badgers are expected to have two years of eligibility with point guard Owen Foxwell, so he would have another season remaining if he stays put. Austin Rapp would be the other focal part of the team if he returns for his senior season.
Elsewhere, a lot of younger players will continue to get older. Key pieces in the 2025 class (Hayden Jones, Zach Kinziger, Will Garlock) are all expected to have bigger roles this upcoming season, and that should only grow as they continue to develop.
Garlock, with his athleticism and size, could develop to be Wisconsin’s center of the future, but will need some time to get there. Of course, we could also see movement in and out of the roster, as expected with the transfer portal.
But, immediately when looking at this roster, Baboucarr Ann and Jalen Brown look like two players who should have the opportunity to play early at Wisconsin.
