Cam Taylor-Britt's tenure with the Colts
The Colts signed Taylor-Britt in free agency earlier this offseason to a one-year deal worth $1.402 million.
What to know about Cam Taylor-Britt
Taylor-Britt spent his first three NFL seasons playing under Lou Anarumo with the Cincinnati Bengals, and has been a stout man coverage defender, an important element to playing in Anarumo's defense.
During his first two years, he surrendered a completion rate of just 54%. He's had strong ball production in his career as well, recording 38 passes defensed with seven interceptions.
However, over the previous two years, Taylor-Britt's play has been up and down. He's been penalized 16 times during that span and allowed a completion rate of 66%, per PFF.
Over his career, Taylor-Britt has seemingly been boom or bust, either limiting the opponent to very little or allowing a big play. He's surrendered 14.6 yards per catch in his four NFL seasons.
Looking ahead to Cam Taylor-Britt's 2026 season
Taylor-Britt finds himself in a crowded Colts' cornerback room, competing for a backup role on the depth chart, as well as a roster spot. Taylor-Britt's deal is quite easy for the Colts to get out of if they choose to move on from him during roster cutdowns.
With Sauce Gardner, Charvarius Ward, and Justin Walley accounting for three roster spots, there are two to three up for grabs depending on how many cornerbacks the Colts keep.
In addition to Taylor-Britt, also vying for a roster spot are Mekhi Blackmon, Johnathan Edwards, Jaylon Jones, and Cameron Mitchell. Chances are that two or three of those players won't make the final 53-man.
