Taylor Wein names his Favorite Oklahoma Games from 2025 season
· Yahoo Sports
The Oklahoma Sooners were one of the surprise teams in college football last season.
After a 6-7 season in their first year in the SEC in 2024, the Sooners bounced back with a 10-3 season in 2025 and a berth in the College Football Playoff. Oklahoma secured its playoff spot after a strong late-season run that included wins over the Tennessee Volunteers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Missouri Tigers, and LSU Tigers. They also beat the Michigan Wolverines and the Auburn Tigers earlier in the year.

Out of all of those games, there were two that stood out to EDGE Taylor Wein. On "The Oklahoma Breakdown with Ikard and Lehman," Wein said that it was two road games at the end of the season that were his favorite.
"I think it's a tie between Alabama and Tennessee," Wein said. "Tennessee was really cool. It was a blackout game, and the crowd was popping."
Both games were pivotal in Oklahoma's push to the postseason. The win at Tennessee came in a 33-27 finish. It was also the breakout game for kicker Tate Sandell, who made 4-of-4 field goals, including three from 50 yards or more.
The next game, Oklahoma followed it with a 23-21 victory over Alabama on the road. This was a defensive masterclass by head coach Brent Venables and Co. The Sooners forced three turnovers, including an 87-yard pick-six from Eli Bowen, and a clutch strip sack by Wein, leading to a field goal that ultimately was the decider.
Those two wins helped solidify Oklahoma's place in the College Football Playoff picture and shifted national perception of the program during the stretch run.
