The Celtics came up short of landing Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo on Monday night when Milwaukee sent him to the Miami Heat.

Boston reportedly was willing to send Jaylen Brown to the Bucks for Antetokounmpo, and now there are questions about whether the Celtics want to keep Brown around.
Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens spoke to the media after the first round of the draft on Tuesday night and responded to questions about whether he still believes Jayson Tatum and Brown can win another title together.
"Yes," Stevens said on whether he thinks Tatum and Brown can win another championship together.
Stevens was asked later whether he believes the Celtics can win another title with Tatum and Brown.

Brown and Tatum did win a title together in 2024, but in the last two seasons, they failed to return to the NBA Finals. Tatum tore his Achilles during the 2025 postseason, and Boston blew a 3-1 lead to the 76ers in the first round of this year's playoffs.
Even though the Celtics seem willing to move on from Brown for Antetokounmpo, Stevens still thinks Brown is a big part of the Celtics.
"Jaylen Brown is a big part of us," Stevens added. "I'm never going to predict the future, but every indication, everything that I think about over the past few years has been building around those guys, right? So obviously, you never know."
