4-Star Center Caleb Ourigou Sets BYU Visit
· Yahoo Sports
BYU is getting a big man on campus as 4-Star 2027 Center Caleb Ourigou arrives to BYU Wednesday for his official visit, multiple sources tell me. Caleb is strongly considering a reclass to the 2026 class, meaning he would be in college this upcoming season. Caleb is already 18 years old and age wise is in line with a 2026 recruit; he turned 18 in May. Caleb reported a BYU offer back in May.

A native of Queens, New York, Ourigou played this past season for Overtime Elite and has caught the eye of college programs this AAU cycle with his strong inside play. Caleb is listed at 6-foot-10 or 6-foot-11 (depending where you look). Caleb is a physical big man who I would say does “big man things.” He is a physical rebounder who carves out space, rebounds his area, and crashes the boards. He has a great rebounder who draws fouls due to his physicality/strength and can finish strong at the rim with physical dunks. Caleb isn’t the flashiest big man, but he brings physicality and a high motor at the five spot that would translate well to the Big 12.
BYU’s pitch to Caleb is straight forward — he would get immediate playing time at BYU, and gets to Provo right when Kevin Young can preach his NBA development. Kevin Young will get back from NYC after being with AJ and can talk to Caleb about that environment.
Sources have told me that Caleb is also planning visit to UConn and Arkansas this week.
If BYU does get Caleb he wouldn’t necessarily be BYU’s starting center. BYU is hoping to get two bigs, and depending who else BYU gets Caleb could be a rotation player as a freshman and not necessarily a starter. Regardless, he would give BYU much needed size inside and a physical presence who can rebound and protect the rim.
