The Lions open training camp Thursday, July 29, at the team's Allen Park practice facility and will hold all nine of their public practices in August.
They do not have joint practices scheduled this year, but will open practices to the general public on Aug. 3, 4, 6, 10 and 19. For season-ticket holders, practices will be open Aug. 2, 7, 16, and 17.
The Lions also will welcome community partners to practice Aug. 11, and host their annual pet adoption day Aug. 4.
They host their lone home exhibition game Aug. 22 against the Washington Commanders.
As in past years, fans must claim free tickets to attend open practices, with a maximum of four tickets per person. Tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. July 21, on the Lions' website.
Season-ticket holders will receive an email with separate information on how to claim tickets beginning July 14 for club members and July 15 for reserve members.
The Lions are coming off a 9-8 season in which they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2022 but are expected to contend for the NFC North title this fall.
Asked about his optimism level for the season after the final minicamp practice of spring last week, Lions coach Dan Campbell said, "I’m excited."
"I feel really good about where we're at right now, knowing what we're getting into six weeks from now," he said. "I feel really good. I feel great about the staff, and I feel like we have the right type of players that we're going to need to rely on. And the surrounding spots, positions, we've got some really good competition." I mean, some of the best we've had since I've been here in different areas. That's exciting, cause there is no greater motivator than the guy who's pushing you. He's trying to get what you think is yours. There's nothing better.”
