2026 NBA mock draft: Sixers select Joshua Jefferson with No. 22 pick

· Yahoo Sports

The Philadelphia 76ers will head into Tuesday night's draft looking to make the right decisions as they look to add another talented young piece to the roster. New President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey ran the draft during his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers and will look to have success with the Sixers as well.

There will be plenty of players at No. 22 who can help right away. This is a relatively deep draft and it gives Philadelphia an opportunity to add a player who can help right away and be included in coach Nick Nurse's rotation. Gansey and Co. have brought in a number of players for pre-draft workouts in an effort to continue their due diligence heading into Tuesday night.

A mock draft performed by The Athletic has the Sixers selecting Iowa State big man Joshua Jefferson at No. 22:

You’re going to read a lot of Kyle Anderson comparisons when it comes to Jefferson, as he reminds a lot of scouts and executives of the 12-year veteran. Jefferson is going to have to learn how to shoot from the outside to be truly effective, but he can really sling the ball around the court. You can play him next to Joel Embiid and get some fun high-low action going.

Jefferson averaged 16.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in the 2025-26 season for the Cyclones. If one wants to learn more about his game, Sixers Wire did a full profile on Jefferson which can be read here. He would be a rotation player right away and one has to wonder if the Sixers would like to add him to their roster in a way to add some depth.
