It's not a given, but it would make a lot of sense for the Milwaukee Bucks to get a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade done before the NBA Draft.

And if that's their plan, they've got less than two days to go. The draft begins on Tuesday night. It's safe to expect teams like the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat to be blowing up Milwaukee's phone in the lead-up to draft night.

The Celtics, in particular, appear to still be in the running.

Reports had emerged over the weekend that suggested the Heat were the favorites, but in the early morning hours of Monday, NBA insider Marc Stein pushed back.

He noted that an offer with Jaylen Brown in it could still get a deal done with the Bucks, and that in that case, they might not even need a third team to facilitate it:

A Celtics offer with Brown certainly feels like the most fascinating one that has been presented in rumors.

Brown, for his part, is a star player who would keep the Bucks relevant going forward.

And the Celtics as a landing spot for Giannis? That certainly would be a potent combination.

Antetokounmpo would have to figure out how to play alongside Jayson Tatum, but they're great players, and they would work it out.

It'd be a tough reminder for the Bucks every time they came up against the Celtics in the next few years, too. There's definite downside to trading Giannis within the Eastern Conference, but that's the way it appears to be shaping up whether it ends up being Miami or Boston.

There can be late twists and turns in negotiations like these, but the fact that the Celtics are still in the picture is huge news for Boston.
