Also known as Speed, the social media star was in attendance at Houston for the Netherlands vs Sweden group stage clash on Saturday.

While the World Cup game was on, Speed was seen expressing his disappointment as not seeing India play at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

On camera, Speed said: "Why India isn't at the World Cup. Why they didn't qualify, they got a good football team. They got Virat Kohli."

The social media star's comments drew mixed reactions from fans, as many of them were confused as to why he named Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli while speaking about a global football tournament.

His admiration for Kohli came to the limelight when he first called the Indian 'GOAT' under a Babar Azam post on Instagram.

Speed even visited India during the 2023 ODI World Cup and watched Virat Kohli and the Indian team live in action and he even cheered for the Men in Blue.

Speed had also reacted emotionally on social media when Kohli announced his retirement from the Test format in May 2025.

Virat Kohli is reportedly heading for a crucial fitness check in the United Kingdom this month, with the results likely to settle whether he features in India's upcoming ODI series against England, as per a report from NDTV.

The star Indian batter sat out the ongoing matches against Afghanistan due to a hamstring problem, though his recovery is said to be moving along nicely. It is a right hamstring issue along with an uncommon tear to the distal semimembranosus tendon.

Kohli picked up the problem during the IPL 2026 final and has since been working through rehabilitation under the watch of BCCI medical staff in London.
