Barcelona willing to offer Araujo in exchange for Cambiaso but Juventus unconvinced

Reports in Italy claim that Barcelona are willing to include centre-back Ronald Araujo as part of a player exchange deal involving Juventus’s Andrea Cambiaso, but the Bianconeri remain unconvinced by this proposal despite their previous interest in the Uruguayan.

Report: Barcelona willing to offer Araujo to Juventus as part of Cambiaso deal

Cambiaso has been heavily linked with a move away from Juventus over the last few days. The Bianconeri are left needing to sell players to make up for the expected drop in revenues with no Champions League football in 2026-27 and the Italy international has emerged as an expendable, yet profitable asset for the Bianconeri.

Juventus reportedly value Cambiaso in the region of €40m, which would go a long way to covering the expected drop in revenues without access to the Champions League, which could amount to around €60m.

Reports earlier this week claimed that both Barcelona and Chelsea are interested in a potential deal for Cambiaso this summer. And, according to updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barcelona are willing to include centre-back Araujo as part of a player exchange deal.

Araujo had previously been linked with a move to Juventus during the winter transfer window in 2025, before the club landed on Englishman Lloyd Kelly.

Despite their previous interest in Araujo, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Juve are not particularly interested in listening to player-plus-cash proposals for Cambiaso, as they would prefer a cash-only offer to reinvest across multiple different areas of the squad.

For this reason, Chelsea, who have just sold left-back Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid in a €60m package, are more likely to be able to stump up the cash that Juventus are seeking.
