Talks open for stunning €90m Mo Salah deal

Mohamed Salah is LEAVING Liverpool.

The Egyptian King has reached a deal with sporting director Richard Hughes to rip up his £400k per week contract one year early. Salah, 33, is now free to sign a lucrative free transfer with any interested clubs - and there is no shortage of suitors.

Teams in the Saudi Pro League will be at the front of the queue for his signature. And San Diego FC in MLS may also make an attempt to bring the two-time African footballer of the year on board.

Salah however believes he is not yet done at the highest level.

Salah moves closer to Fenerbahce deal

There remains the chance that he stays in Europe and competes for a Champions League club. Teams in Italy - such as Roma - would love to get him on board but would struggle with the financial outlay.

But Fenerhabce in Turkey is certainly a possibility. Club director Ertan Torunogullari spoke last week about Salah signing a €30m-per-year deal with the Istanbul giants.

The left-footer would be offered a three-year deal in the Turkish Super Lig - meaning a total of €90m as a wage package. Those quotes have been followed up by a report in Fotomac which claims that talks have now begun to bring Salah to Turkey.

Fenerbahce open talks for Salah deal

“Fenerbahçe management has initiated transfer negotiations for the Egyptian star,” the report reads.

“It has been reported that the famous star, who is a free agent, is open to coming to Türkiye and wants his future to be clarified before the World Cup ends.

“Contact will be initiated with the agent of the 33-year-old right winger.”

The agent Ramy Abbas Issa sent out a missive on Friday about Salah’s future - stating: “Mohamed is doing perfectly fine and neither he nor I prefer to discuss sensitive future plans with people not involved in them. Both he and I are very private about these things. Yes, people may ask and they may get a standard polite response but that’s about it.”

It remains to be seen where Salah lands - but we may have to wait until Egypt’s participation at the FIFA World Cup is at an end before we get that answer.
