Tennessee junior named honorable mention top 10 wide receiver in 2026

The 2026 college football season will kick off Aug. 29 at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland. The season's first FBS game will feature North Carolina versus TCU.

Kickoff between the Tar Heels and Horned Frogs is scheduled for noon EDT (ESPN).

Ahead of the 2026 campaign, Eli Lederman and Max Olson of ESPN ranked the top 10 best wide receivers in college football.

Jeremiah Smith of Ohio State is ranked as the top wide receiver entering the 2026 season. Miami's Malachi Toney is second and Cam Coleman of Texas is ranked third.

Charlie Becker (fourth) and Nick Marsh (fifth) of Indiana are also ranked top five. Rutgers' KJ Duff (sixth), Oregon's Dakorien Moore (seventh), Florida State's Duce Robinson (eighth), Texas' Ryan Wingo (ninth) and Alabama's Ryan Coleman-Williams (tenth) are also ranked in the top 10.

Tennessee junior wide receiver Mike Matthews was named honorable mention entering the 2026 season by ESPN.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound wide receiver appeared in 24 games for the Vols from 2024-25. Matthews totaled 60 receptions for 903 yards and six touchdowns.
