The dates were locked in during the ICC Board Meeting in Ahmedabad, with formal confirmation expected at the ICC Annual General Meeting in Edinburgh, Scotland, this July.

The 2027 edition will mark South Africa's first ICC men's event since the 2009 Champions Trophy, and the country's first ODI World Cup since 2003. For Zimbabwe and Namibia, it builds on their recent experience co-hosting the Under-19 men's World Cup together.
