The 26-year-old defender joined the Soweto giants at the start of last season from Portuguese outfit Alverca but injuries limited him to just a single appearance.
After seven months on the sideline, Shinga made his debut for Chiefs but it was short-lived as he suffered another injury.
According to Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs might place the defender on a transfer list.
“Why would you keep Shinga? And those are the things that they don’t look at. They look at the obvious ones. And they are looking at because Shinga has a contract,” an inside told the publication.
Kaizer Chiefs could add another left-back
“Shinga wouldn’t be considered for what, for transfer or for selling or whatever. But people go with contract. You can always terminate a contract. So those are some of the players who are still not safe at the moment. But the club is looking at which players can still contribute to the team in the next season and all that could he revealed maybe this week you never know. But Shinga’s future still hangs in the balance,” the insider revealed to Soccer Laduma.
Kaizer Chiefs have already announced the departure of centre-back Aden McCarthy on Tuesday.
With a left-footed defender gone, Amakhosi only have Shinga, Paseka Mako and Bradley Cross, who are left-footed defenders.
With Mako and Shinga’s future uncertain, the Soweto giants might have to bring in two left-footed defenders.
